Kimenyi's international management career spans Africa and the Middle East over a period of over 30-years, during which time he's gained valuable strategic perspective in both start-up operations as well as with established companies in their field. His experience includes working in the telecommunications industry, in financial services, and also successfully running his own businesses.
Select highlights of Kimenyi's entrepreneurial career include successfully establishing and running a flower export business in Kenya, and operating businesses in the management consulting, retail clothing, information technology, and water supply industries. In the corporate world, he has played pivotal roles in teams that have launched the prepaid product portfolio in two mobile phone operations in each of a Middle Eastern and a North African country; launching a major business revenue stream for a telecoms operator in a Middle Eastern country; managing a major telecommunications installation for a UK-based engineering solutions house in conjunction with a large European telecommunications equipment vendor in a North African country; and, conducting Africa-wide business development of a private equity nature for a large international conglomerate originally from India.
Kimenyi holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business of the University of Cape Town, and a BSc (Economics) from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Njoroge is a C-Suite Level Executive with more than 30 years of leadership history in the East African region. He excels in providing strategic leadership, spearheading strategic execution and change management, and managing and mentoring diverse teams. His experience spans the finance, real estate, agribusiness, and information technology industries.
Aside from his management consulting work, Njoroge serves as the Executive Director for Progressive Heritage, a family-owned group of businesses specializing in agri-business and real estate. He was the CEO of Home Afrika between 2013 to 2015 where he was instrumental in leading the record achievement of revenue growth of 171% year-on-year, and significant infrastructure upgrade investment in his first full year.
In earlier years, Njoroge worked in Uganda for more than 12 years holding numerous senior leadership positions including General Manager Dyer & Blair Uganda, General Manager DFCU Bank Uganda, Country Manager Africa Online Uganda, and Head of Investments, Housing Finance Bank of Uganda. In the community he is on the Board of Trustees of St. Peter’s School, Kibagare, he is the Environment Convener for the Kibagare Way Residents Association, and the Chair of the Limuru Highlands Trust.
Njoroge is a member of the CFA Institute of East Africa and the Institute of Directors in Kenya. He holds an MSc in Financial Management from the University of London (SOAS), and an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Ohio Wesleyan University. He also qualified to the California State Board of Accountancy.
